I've funded several projects on kickstarter, never had a bad experience. (I've funded movies, books, artists who want to paint in Norway. Some of the projects can take months or years to complete. It's kinda fun to get a dvd or book in the mail from a project that you've completely forgotten about.)
I think government should be run like kickstarter, the legislative body decides what programs should go up for funding, then I get to goto a website and apply my tax dollars to the programs that I want funded. If some program doesn't get any dollars it get shut down.

Nick, are you Norwegian-American?

No, I'm not -- why do you ask?

With a name like yours Norwegian is not the first nationality that springs to mind. But I do appreciate being able to work my way through the flags of the world when I post here.
ObOnTopic: NakeyMonkey does look quite cool. But it is reinforcing my view that while FM is cool and all the popular Delphi kids are playing with it, there's not a lot of commercial use of it yet. But the good news is that my accountant says the kickstarter should count as a tax-deductible work expense.
The views I express here are entirely my own and not necessarily those of any other rational person or organization. However, I strongly recommend that you agree with pretty much everything I say because, well, I'm right. Most of the time. Except when I'm not, in which case, you shouldn't agree with me.
